Privacy Policy

TacticalGM is a free, fan-made esports management game at tacticalgm.com. This page explains what information the game uses and why. The short version: your leagues stay in your browser, an account stores only what it needs for sign-in and achievements, and we don’t sell or share your information for advertising.
Playing without an account
You can play without signing in. Your leagues, settings and any achievements you earn are saved in your own browser (local storage and IndexedDB) and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so use Export League to keep a backup.
If you sign in
You can sign in with Discord or Google. We ask those services only for your basic profile, and we store:
- your Discord or Google account ID, display name and profile picture link;
- the manager name and optional home region you choose;
- your achievements (which ones, how many times, and the league, season and team you earned them with);
- when your account was created and last used.
We don’t receive your password or your email address. A cookie keeps you signed in on this site; it holds a signed account ID and nothing else. We use this information only to run your account.
Online leagues
Online leagues connect players’ browsers directly to each other. When you join one:
- other managers in the league see your manager name and everything you do in the league, like signings, trades and lineups;
- the host’s browser keeps a copy of the league, and each manager’s browser keeps a copy too;
- to find each other, browsers exchange connection details through public relay servers run by third parties (the Nostr network). Those details are encrypted, but as with any direct connection, the players you connect with and the relays can see your IP address.
Service providers
The site and account service are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests (including IP addresses) to deliver the site, keep it secure and produce basic error logs. Sign-in is handled by Discord or Google under their own privacy policies. Optional tips are handled by Ko-fi (ko-fi.com/tacticalgm) under its own privacy policy; we never see your payment details. We don’t use advertising or third-party analytics.
Keeping and deleting your data
Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its achievements, email play@tacticalgm.com from any address and tell us your manager name and whether you used Discord or Google; we’ll confirm once it’s done. You can also remove TacticalGM’s access from your Discord or Google account settings at any time.
Children
TacticalGM isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
